The repression continued even after the rebellion ended with pursuits, trials and executions and the confiscations of lands and properties. And as I see it, this author is not really guilty of any of the above charges. The Last Mughal brings us the story of dalrtmple Emperor, the royal family and what happened in Delhi, the epicenter of the entire rebellion. Now that is not a problem with The Last Mughal. This book does a good job of describing Delhi, before and after the mghal against the British. They sat on the fence as long as they could, while others went a step ahead and actively helped the british.
Neither William Dalrymple nor the Last Mughal need another positive review after all the prior accolades they have received.
